The Scriptures
We believe the the Word of God is truth (John 17:17). The Scriptures as given by God are profitable to us for teaching us how to live, for revealing our faults and weaknesses, for correcting us and redirecting our lives in a way that pleases Him, and for training us in living a righteous life that allows us to grow into spiritual maturity that results in good works (2 Timothy 3:16).
Sin
All mankind have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). Sin has separated us from and prevented fellowship with God (Isaiah 59:2). God, being a just and holy God, requires payment for our sin, or the sinner must face God's wrath and eternal separation in Hell (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8).
Salvation
Because God is also a merciful God, He took on flesh and became a man (John 1:1-5, 14) that He might pay the ransom for our sin (Romans 6:23). A person can receive this free gift of grace by agreeing with God and trusting in the sacrificial death and bodily resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ, as full payment for his/her sin (Romans 10:10). Those who have received God's gift of grace through the new birth (John 3:3-8) will spend eternity in Heaven with the Lord (John 3:16; 14:2-3; Revelation 21:3-4).
Evidence of Salvation
The evidence of the new birth is a changed life (2 Corinthians 5:17). This changed life is given by God and is not something that any person can accomplish on their own (2 Corinthians 5:18). Further evidence of the new birth is the desire to share Jesus Christ with those who don't know Him and who are still in their sins (2 Corinthians 5:20-21).
